What is between the FPGA and the display driving the LEDs? Or does the module speak i2c or similar?
Also, what do you use to power the module?
There are some 74HC595 shift registers and some row decoding logic plus FETs for driving them.
I use a switched ac/dc converter rated at 5V / 100W for powering three of that modules.
